Was in Paris with two friends for the weekend and found this restaurant whilst wandering around the St. Michel area - decided to go in and reserve a table there for that evening. The staff were extremely polite and helpful and asked if a table beside the piano would be okay. When we returned in the evening, we were seated at a lovely table and there was live piano music being played which was excellent. Later on, a French singer also performed and was extremely entertaining. The music definitely added a distinctly French atmosphere to the evening. The menu was in French with a brief English description also included. The choices were varied and the prices very reasonable for Paris. We chose from the a la carte menu - starters were around 8e, mains around 13/14e and desserts around 6e. The food was unfussy and excellent, particularly the fabulous French Onion Soup and two baskets of French bread were provided. The service was very good, and unlike many French restaurants, the patrons were not all packed together like sardines! The total bill came to around 120e including wine which I thought was very reasonable for 3 people on an a la carte menu. I would definitely go back to Baladin Rive Gauche and would not hesitate to recommend it.
